'Pirates' sails home to 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on October 3

Remember when Disney wasn't in the 4K UHD business? Yeah, that was Monday. In case you were sleeping earlier this week, Disney announced on Tuesday that they were going to release their first ever film on the nascent 4K UHD Blu-ray format when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 debuts on home entertainment on August 22.

Well, Disney wasted no time to reaffirm its newfound commitment to the latest home entertainment format when it announced this morning that Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales would also be available on 4K UHD Blu-ray when it debuts on home entertainment on October 3. Disney will also be bringing Pirates out on Blu-ray and DVD.



Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales who finds that he has a band of ghost sailors hot on his tail with the desire to finally give Captain Jack that final plunge to Davy Jones' Locker. The bonus features are listed below.
